The IDOM group is an international engineering, construction management and services provider, of which AEC Engineering is the North American subsidiary with offices in Canada and the United States. For over 20 years AEC and IDOM (AEC Idom) have developed engineering solutions for the food and allied industries ranging from facility design and construction to process design and energy recovery. Our 2700+ professionals located in 12 countries and on four continents readily provide the expertise that our clients require anywhere in the world.
We have long built a reputation for technical credibility and ingenuity to produce value enhancing solutions. For example, in what seemed to be a simple pumping and blending study, we were able to identify that the observed structural vibrations were the result of two-phase flow. From a successful modeling of this flow we actually recommended the removal of booster pumps and a few operational changes leading to a capacity for even greater flow than with the pumps.
Projects undertaken by AEC Idom include greenfield developments, energy integration or conservation projects, cleaning system design, capacity additions, facility design and construction, and utility design and/or modification. Cold Storage Facility and Project Management (Madrid)

IDOM was responsible for the project management and Site supervision for the construction of a Cold Storage facility. The storage included standard refrigerated areas and low temperature frozen storage areas. Specially designed receiving and shipping zones were used to isolate the storage areas from ambient conditions.
Canned Foods Plant (Agadir)

IDOM provided engineering services from the initial plant layout study up to site supervision including the facilities for an Aveiro canned food processing plant.

Energy Savings in Meat Processing (USA)

Our team of process engineers identified energy savings possible through process improvements in heat recovery and tempered water systems, water pretreatment, waste heat from fired equipment, and plant utility systems.
Processing Facility Design and Construction Management (USA)

AEC was responsible for the design and project management to support the new slaughter facility for a Midwestern meat processor. Responsibilities included architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services.
